Al Gore has long been an key voice in the climate change debate, raising awareness and winning awards for ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. Now he’s added his voice to the issues faced by the food system from climate change. Inviting 300 guests; chefs, farmers, food executives and activists to a two-day conference at his family farm, Gore explored the intersection of food, climate change and sustainable agriculture. Despite being “deeply depressed” by the situation Gore focussed on the solutions available, connecting our ability to restore the health of the planet while also restoring the health of people and communities. It’s great to have someone with Gore’s reach add his voice to this crucial issue.
