Wednesday saw Hong Kong’s most sustainable restaurants celebrated at the inaugural Food Made Good HK Awards. Following in the footsteps of the UK’s Food Made Good Awards, this event was more than just a chance to get together (for a small number, in real life!) but a recognition of the hard work and leadership of all involved with Food Made Good HK in it’s first year of operation. Some of Hong Kong’s best-known restaurants were rewarded for their positive response to the climate crisis with a socially conscious organic food store and cafe group securing the top prize; SpiceBox Organic was crowned ‘Business of the Year’.Heidi Spurrell, CEO of Food Made Good HK remarked: “During a challenging year, we have seen our inspiring members take risks, influence their customers to make better choices and have a positive impact on their community and environment. They’ve carefully balanced their principles with the need to stay profitable. We are excited to see what our members will pursue over the next year.” We couldn’t agree more.Click here to see all seven award winners and why they won and watch the recording of the event here.
