Whilst coronavirus is of course primarily a health care issue that will unfold as a human tragedy, Food Made Good CEO Simon argues in this blog that it is food system failures that sit at the heart of the current disaster. With a relatively clear consensus that the virus originated in the wet markets of Wuhan, China, food supply chains have become exposed and the knock on impacts imeasurable. Whilst it might be too early to be thinking about what this means for the future, it’s likely that shorter, more transparent and traceable supply chains will be beneficial from both health and environmental perspectives.
