It can be true that people can get ‘stuck’ on climate change due to the scale and complexity of the problem. This series of articles from Eater tries to help with this by breaking down some of more tangible consequences that we might expect to see over the coming years. From the impact being had on olive oil production to the links between lettuce farming, warmer temperatures and E.coli, these stories serve to highlight the range and scale of change that we can expect to see within our food systems. Eater highlights that the everyday actions of individuals, every plane ride, every Big Mac, every plastic straw, versus each bicycle trip, each vegan bowl, each reusable cup have consequences that we can’t ignore. Whilst it’s not easy to say for certain whether we’ll all end up eating jellyfish in the future, what is certain is that our food systems will change.
